Photograph of the mushroom cloud caused by the detonation of a Fat Man plutonium implosion-type nuclear bomb (the kind dropped on Nagasaki), during the Baker Test of Operation Crossroads. The bomb, named Helen of Bikin,i had a yield of 23 kilotons of TNT (96 TJ), and was detonated 90 feet (27 m) underwater, halfway between the surface and the seafloor, on July 25, 1946.
